Here is the WorksManager release notes as of Apr, 2021

Features

Groundworks

WorksManager now officially supports Groundworks (v1.2 & above)

With this support, you can

● Add a VERSO device (running Groundworks) to your account

● Add device to project

● Publish Groundworks design to any/ all Groundworks devices in the project

● View Groundworks devices on project map; verify if they are running the latest designs

● Edit, delete, download, and archive designs in the project


System auto features (now applicable to Groundworks as well). WorksManager

● auto adds Groundworks device to project if it reports within the project boundary

● auto pulls Groundworks designs to any Groundworks device added to project

● auto renames Groundworks device if device name is changed in the field

● auto publishes Groundworks designs to all Groundworks devices if calibration is changed in the project

● auto archives design versions as user keeps editing Groundworks design (and retains just the last three versions)


WorksManager features that don’t work for Groundworks

● Users cannot remote into Groundworks devices

● Users cannot publish designs directly from Trimble Business Center

● Users cannot view as built data

With this addition, WorksManager product now supports these device models/ firmware

● Earthworks (EC520, EC520-W)

● Siteworks (TABLET)

● Groundworks (VERSO)

● GCS900/ CCS900/ PCS900 (CB460, CB450, CB430, CD700)

● SCS900 (TSC3, EM, Site Mobile)


Bugs fixed

Subscription card in account details never loads (just spins)

Issue description:

Given an account with valid WorksManager subscription,

When user navigates to Account > Details,

Then, ‘Subscriptions’ card never loads, just spins forever


Fix: The issue is fixed. Now, WorksManager will display the subscription info. (limit & actual) for devices, users and projects


Minor enhancements

Add/ remove designs to/ from devices (after initial publish)

Now, you can add/ remove designs to/ from any device after the design is published

● Navigate to Project > Devices

● Select specific device > View summary panel

● Click ‘Edit design list’ from summary panel

● Add/ remove designs between Available/ Published sections

● Hit Save


Remote access experience

Issue: The time duration from ‘when a device gets online in the field’ to ‘when the device turns green in WorksManger in office’ had been relatively high in the past.

Enhancement: We have been working with our remote partner on this performance concern recently. The enhancement is complete, and pushed to the WorksManager product. Users can notice that the remote access delay has been considerably reduced to an acceptable time range now.


Product reliability

Issue: There had been a few reliability issues with WorksManager/ TCC in the recent past, with specific modules being unavailable or don’t work properly

Enhancement: The Engineering team has worked on specific initiatives to maintain/ improve the quality of the product, monitor important workflows in the product and take proactive measures if any failure. This should help improve the overall reliability of the system. We are fully committed to the reliability of the product, and would continually invest to keep it as stable as possible.
