New & Improved
This WorksManager release includes these new features and enhancements:
Features
Select specific geoid for published coordinates
Today, when you add published coordinates to the project by selecting the country/coordinate system and the zone, the geoid is auto-selected. While we know you like this, we also realize you want flexibility to override the default geoid. Introducing ‘Edit geoid’ option in the published coordinates workflow.
With this feature, you can now select the geoid of your choice from the entire list of available geoids. This will override the default geoid that was already attached. The calibration file will then be published to all the machines and rovers in the project as earlier.
Bulk operations - archive, delete, download designs
Are you tired of performing design operations one-by-one within the project? You no longer have to be. Introducing bulk operations for project designs… you can now archive, delete, and download designs in bulk.
When you bulk archive/delete, the selected designs will all be archived/deleted from their respective published devices on the next sync in the field. When you bulk download, the selected designs will be downloaded together to your desktop.
File Explorer for data collectors
Do you wish to view the data in the field device in a simple explorer view? Well, you can now find the file explorer feature for data collectors in the Account > Devices page. Select any data collector device and click the folder icon from the right info panel. You can then browse the file/folder structure like any explorer. You can also navigate to any parent folder by simply clicking the link in the breadcrumb path.
Global Search
If you are a dealer with a large number of customer accounts to support, Global Search is a feature that you will love. With this feature, you can quickly search a device or a project in any of the customer accounts with a name or a serial number keyword.
Quadri integration
Create a model in Quadri and send it straight to devices in the field with the new integration with Quadri, Connect, and WorksManager. This helps contractors using Quadri to send the model to the field without having to leave Quadri. The surface, string lines, and alignment in the model will be exported as an xml file in Quadri before being sent to the field. This needs a ‘Connected Project’ between Trimble Connect, Quadri, and WorksManager. Please refer to this help topic to learn in detail about the integration, prerequisites, and workflow.
Minor enhancements
View warranty date for Earthworks/ Siteworks
Do you want to be on top of the warranty info of your devices? You can now view the warranty dates of the Earthworks/Siteworks devices from the Account > Devices page. You can add the field to the main column view by selecting the column settings option on the top.
View available storage for Earthworks machines
You can now view the available storage for any Earthworks machine from the right info panel.
View additional information about receiver devices
You can now view antenna type, base station name, and number of satellites for a receiver device from the right info panel.
Fixed
This release also includes fixes for reported or discovered cases in which:
Work orders list displays creation date instead of modified date
Issue description:
Given a project with work orders on data collectors,
When you navigate to Project > Devices, select any data collector device and view Field Data
Then, the work orders list displays creation date instead of modified date.
Fix: The issue is fixed. Now, WorksManager displays the work order last modified date/ time stamp in the date column. Note that this value is still the date/ time when the work order synced to the cloud last (and not necessarily when the work order changed in the field offline).
Published tab in ‘Edit devices’ page is empty when design is published to all devices
Issue description:
Given a project with designs published to all devices in the project,
When you navigate to Project > Designs page, select any design and edit devices
Then, the default ‘Published’ view is empty (though the design had been published to devices).
Fix: There was a minor glitch issue in the user interface when fetching the devices list, and that's fixed. Now, WorksManager displays the list of all the devices in the project to which the design had been published.
A project user with a ‘Project Viewer’ permission is able to take remote access from the project map screen
Issue description:
Given a WorksManager user has ‘Project Viewer’ permissions in the project,
When the user navigates to Project > Map page, and selects any device
Then, the user is able to view the remote status, and able to take remote access.
Fix: There was a permission issue specific to the map screen and that’s fixed. Now, a WorksManager user with a ‘Project Viewer’ permission only will not be able to take remote access to any device in the project. However, a user with a ‘Project Manager’ permission will continue to be able to take remote access to any device.
Unable to delete an unclaimed device from account when the same device has been shared from another account
Issue description:
Given
Two WorksManager accounts (rental, contractor for instance), and
a device has been added to both the accounts, and
the device is claimed in the one account (rental), while remains unclaimed in the other account (contractor),
When a user tries to delete the unclaimed device from the contractor account
Then, the system shows spin icon forever, and nothing happens.
Fix: The issue is fixed. Now, if a rental device is added to a contractor account by mistake, it can be deleted from the account without any issues.
System allows adding a receiver model device to a project
Issue description:
Given a WorksManager account with a few receiver model devices in it,
When you navigate to a Project > Devices page, and click ‘Add’ device
Then,
‘My Devices’ tab in the ‘Add Devices to Project’ screen displays receiver model devices along with the machine control/data collector devices, and
allows you to add a receiver device to the project as well (though there is no functionality specific to a receiver device in the project context yet).
Fix: The issue is resolved. ‘My Devices’/‘Shared With Me’ tab no longer displays receiver model devices. They continue to display machine control and data collector devices as earlier.
