WorksManager Release Notes Q1 - Q4 2023

New & Improved

This WorksManager release includes these new features and enhancements:

Features

Share devices with partner accounts

Before, there was no easy way to work with devices from a different account in your project. Introducing ‘shared devices’ feature which gives you ‘the ability to invite devices from different accounts into a single project for easier project management'. The workflow involves 3 basic steps:

From there on, the shared device behaves very similar to an owned device, and the project manager can then easily share data to and from the shared device in the field. For further details, read the blog article here.

Enhanced communication with field systems

WorksManager and Trimble Earthworks 2.14 supports new enhanced communication channels. This new functionality uses bidirectional real time communication to deliver project settings and designs to devices, and enables the device to transmit the status back to the office. Having a bidirectional communication channel enables users of WorksManager to view the status of project settings and designs for supported devices, without having to contact the operator.

Over the Air Firmware Updates

You can now push EC520 firmware from the office to the field remotely via WorksManager. You can push to multiple machines at once, and the operator can choose to install immediately, or upon the next power cycle. This is available for upgrades only, and not downgrades.

For full details, read the partner document here.

Sort

The wait for this long-pending feature is over. You can now sort any page in WorksManager across any columns, ascending or descending. Started as an incremental/iterative exercise with a few screens, the feature is now available across all the screens.

Export

You can now export data from WorksManager across major pages. The data gets exported into a CSV format into the default ‘Downloads’ folder. You can open the .csv data in a notepad app, Google sheet or Microsoft Excel, as needed.

Add/remove columns dynamically

You can now customize the columns in the main list view as you want. You can add/remove columns, and/or move columns left/right as you prefer. You can also reset to the default settings, if needed.

Filter columns

You can now filter data in the main list view. You can filter across any columns from the info panel, apply changes, and then see the selected filter as chips above the list view. You can also easily remove the filter by closing the chips.

The three features export, add/remove columns, and filter columns are now available with

Minor enhancements

View receiver models (additional)

You can now easily add devices of a few additional receiver models in WorksManager. In addition to the regular SPS models, R780, MPS865, SNM941, BX992-x, SPS356 have been added into the ‘Device Mode’ list in the Add New Account Device page. You can search by typing keywords in the model field, since the field is both a drop-down menu and a search field.
