Features

Send design to specific device

Send design to specific devices' feature is now available in WorksManager. With this feature, you can

● Create a machine control/ data collector design, select specific devices to send the design to, and publish to devices in the field from WorksManager

● Toggle on/ off 'Publish to all devices' option

● Edit, delete/ archive, download designs (functionality already exists today)

● Select a specific design, and view devices that the design has been published to

● Add any additional devices/ remove a few devices for the design > The design will be added/ removed from these devices on next sync from the field.

What's not available yet?

● TBC integration: This feature is not integrated with Trimble Business Center directly yet. The intent is to bring this feature in the upcoming TBC releases. However until then, as a workaround, you can achieve the same outcome in three simple steps

a. Publish vcl design from TBC as you do today (this goes to all devices in the project by default)

b. Login to WorksManager > Navigate to designs > Select design published from TBC

c. Use ‘Edit devices’ option > remove devices that you don’t want the design for.

● Group devices/ work zone: The ability to send a design to a pre-defined group (of devices) or a work zone (defined by a geo-fence) is also not available today. But, it's there in the pipeline.

● Send single design to data collectors and machine control devices from WorksManager user interface: The ability to send a single design to both data collectors as well as machine control devices from WorksManager user interface is not yet available. It's there in the pipeline, however, it might take quite some time before it might get implemented. Until then, you can continue to create two designs with the same name, one for the data collectors, and the other for machine control

Delete project

Users can now delete a project (navigate to ‘My Account’ > ‘Projects’) forever. The deleted project data gets removed from all the field devices that were part of the project, on next sync. Note that users cannot access/ restore a deleted project (at least for now)

View device description

Users can now view device description in

● ‘Add device to project’ screen

● ‘Connected devices’ screen for IBSS

● ‘Edit devices’ option in design page
