Designs

In WorksManager, create a design and add design data (surface model, stakeout points, and design map objects), so it can be synced to field systems as a VCL file. Multiple designs can be associated with a WorksManager project, and each WorksManager design can include multiple models. Models, which can be defined by a surface, an alignment, a surface and an alignment, 3D linework, and more, are used by crews in the field to perform grading, checks, and other operations, and by machines to perform excavation and grading operations.

In Trimble Business Center (TBC), you create a WorksManager design by picking objects within your TBC project data, but in WorksManager you create a design by adding files with different kinds of data. This data is published to your project’s VCL file where it can be picked up by Siteworks, Earthworks, or Groundworks for use on a site.

Note:  The documents in this workflow assume that you are not using TBC, but rather creating projects and designs for Siteworks in WorksManager alone.
