Device Support

  1. Will SCS900 emulator work with WorksManager like Siteworks?

Yes, SCS900 emulator is compatible with WorksManager. You should add the device as an 'EM' model, and ‘EM’ stands for Emulator. However, you need to know what works, and what does not.

    • Publishing design to device will work. WorksManager publishes data collector designs to the emulator like any other SCS900/ Siteworks device. And the emulator can sync to TCC and pull in the designs.

    • Dot on the map will not work because only Siteworks firmware has been upgraded to send location/ status info to WorksManager.

    • Remote assistance will neither work in Siteworks nor in SCS900 emulators. It works only on real devices.

  1. Does WorksManager work with tablets running SCS900 and Siteworks?

Yes. SCS900 and Siteworks are both supported.

  1. Does WorksManager support Trimble Access or only Siteworks/SCS900?

WorksManager does not yet interact with Trimble Access.

  1. How does data flow between an Earthworks device and TCC during the sync process?

In Earthworks - TCC sync process, inside 'Project Library' folder, 'EarthworksData' syncs from the field device to TCC. It does not go from TCC to field device. In 'Projects' folder, 'Office Data' go from TCC to device 'Field data' go from device to TCC. The key question is whether its office data or field data. If its field data, it syncs from device to TCC. If its office data, it syncs from TCC to the field.

Groundworks

  1. What version of Groundworks is supported?

WorksManager supports Groundworks v1.2 & above

  1. What device models are supported for Groundworks?

VERSO is the only model supported by WorksManager with this release.

  1. Are location/status messages supported for Groundworks?

Yes, location and status messages are supported. You can view the Groundworks devices on the project map, and verify if they are running the latest designs. You can also view the full device status message from the account device page.

  1. Can I publish a background design and plan together from WorksManager?

No, you either publish a design, or an individual plan from WorksManager at a single instance. You can create them separately though. You will continue to manage (edit/ delete/ download/ archive) them separately. For instance, you can create a design ‘Parking Lot.V01’, and a pile plan ‘StockPile.V01’ separately.

  1. Can I publish Groundworks designs from Trimble Business Center directly to field devices?

No, you cannot publish Groundworks designs directly from Trimble Business Center yet.

  1. Are TCC workgroups supported for Groundworks in WorksManager?

No, TCC workgroups are not supported in WorksManager. So, you should ignore the workgroup option in the device (Groundworks > Settings > System > TCC Sync), and fill in the rest of the details. This is not just specific to Groundworks, but even applicable to Earthworks and Siteworks.

  1. Can I access the Groundworks ‘as built’ data from the field in WorksManager?

No, not yet, you can continue to use TCC to get that data if needed.
